Family Search Center

Within our community we are blessed to have to "search centers".

Monday through Thursday they are open 9am to 6pm.
Friday and Saturday they are open 9am through 5 pm.
Sunday - Closed

I have found resources there that I had not seen before. That is the newspaper collection. After looking in several other newspaper sites that I could think of, I found an obituary in their library newspaper collection.

The librarians are "extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful".The library has community outreach as well as frequent book sales. There is very large children's room downstairs.

And of course we meet in the lower level for meetings.

The other library is the Family Search Center, which is part of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints denomination.

This library is the holding area for the books owned by the Natron County Genealogical Society. These books are labeled with a small yellow sticker and are through out the room. The church recently upgraded the table top computers and added 3 more in the back of the room.

The volunters who staff the library have varying levels of knowledge regarding family history. They will help as much as they can. Many of the clieniele have been researching their families for decades and may be able offier to help you with your research.

The hours the Family Search Center is open are:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays - 9-12 and 1-4.
Tuesday, Wednesday - 6:30 to 8:30
Saturdays 9 - 12

They are closed on 2 Saturdays during the year, usually in the months of April and October,  for Church State Conference.

If you are a fan on FamilySearch.org and are not a member of the Latter Day Saints, you might not be able to sign in to all the information that FamilySearch.org has to offer at home. That is when you want  to go to the Family Search Center. You will be able to access the items that were restricted to you at home.

The address for the Family Search Center is: 3931 W 45th street.

The phone number of the Family Search Center is: 307-234-3326
